Jesus tells the disciples he will be killed and will rise again.

MATTHEW

the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.

17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, "Why weren't we able to cast it out?"

17:20 He said to them, "Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 17:21 But this kind doesn't go out except by prayer and fasting."

17:22 While they were staying in Galilee,

Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men, 17:23 and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up."

They were exceedingly sorry.

17:24 When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, "Doesn't your teacher pay the didrachma?" 17:25 He said, "Yes."

When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or

MARK

9:26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, "He is dead." 9:27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

9:28 When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we cast it out?"

9:29 He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting."

9:30 They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn't want anyone to know it. 9:31 For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again."

9:32 But they didn't understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. 9:43  They were all astonished at the majesty of God.

But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did,

he said to his disciples, 9:44 "Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men." 9:45 But they didn't understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
