Jesus gives more details to the twelve about his approaching death and resurrection

MATTHEW

one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn't you agree with me for a denarius? 20:14 Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you. 20:15 Isn't it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?' 20:16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen."

20:17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem,

he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them, 20:18 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, 20:19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles

to mock, to scourge, and to crucify;

and the third day he will be raised up."

20:20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.

20:21 He said to her, "What do you want?"

10:32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him. 10:33 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles. 10:34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again."

10:35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."

10:36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"

10:37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may

18:31 He took the twelve aside, and said to them,

"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed. 18:32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on. 18:33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again."

18:34 They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn't understand the things that were said.
